Donald Clarence Hines

Donald Clarence Hines 90 passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Hebron United Church of Christ with Rev. Arkon Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Donald was born in Davidson County on October 8, 1925 to Clarence Hines and Vertie Clodfelter Hines. He was a member of Hebron United Church of Christ where he was actively involved in his church and retired as an inspector with the Davidson County Building Inspectors office. Donald was the very first inspector. He also served in the US Navy during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Frances Smith Hines (married 43 years); brothers, Burnette, Fred and Gray; one sister, Virginia Smith; a son-in-law, Harold Bolen. Surviving is a daughter, Lana Bolen; three grandchildren, Scotty Burrow (Sherry), Linda Leonard (Grayson), Dean Bolen (Tammy); four great grandchildren, Christine Burrow, Cody Burrow, Christopher Leonard and Thomas Leonard. Memorials may be made to Hebron United Church of Christ, 129 Hebron Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or Hospice and Pallative Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
