Donald Ray Kennedy

Donald Ray Kennedy, age 74 of Paul Musgrave Road, formerly of Shallotte, died late Saturday night at the home of his son. A memorial service will be 7:00 pm Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Bake Garman. Mr. Kennedy was born May 1, 1934 in Guilford County to George Belton Kennedy and Nellie Teachy Kennedy. He was a retired owner and operator of a tire store. Surviving are his sons, Donald Kennedy II and his wife, Morgan Lindsay Kennedy, of Lexington, Tommy Ray Kennedy of Sophia and Carl Kennedy and his wife, Brenda, of High Point; one brother, Charles Kennedy of Shallotte, a sister Dot Kennedy of High Point; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are a special uncle who was like a brother, Paul Kennedy and his wife, Jean, of Southmont. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm Thursday prior to the service and at other times at the home.
