Donald Leonard Kepley, 84, of Hollyberry Lane, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Hinkle Hospice House after declining health.
A funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Holly Grove Lutheran Church by Pastor Constance Garrett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church just prior to the service.
Mr. Kepley was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Alamance County to Kerney Bernard Kepley and Ruth Michael Kepley. He was a building contractor, owner of DLK Motor Co. and member of Holly Grove Lutheran Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. Preceding him in death were his parents and sister Peggy Kepley Everhart.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Kay McCulloch Kepley of the home; son Greg Kepley (Guyla) of Lexington; daughter Patrice Thompson (Ben) of Dunn; two grandchildren, Graham Thompson (Ashlyn) of Dunn and Geordon Kepley of Lexington; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Thompson and Benjamin Thompson; brother Gene Kepley (Barbara) of Lexington; brother-in-law Dwight Everhart of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
