Donald Ray Koontz

Donald Ray Koontz, 74, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at Rolling Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Sechrest officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mr. Koontz was born August 31, 1947, in Davidson County to Robert Franklin Koontz and Dorothy Orrell Koontz. He was a member of Rolling Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed making flower arrangements for the community.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Franklin Koontz Jr. and Larry Wayne Koontz.

Surviving is his wife, Alice “June” Rickard Koontz of the home; two daughters, Lisa Koontz of Lexington, and Doni Kesler (Donald) of Salisbury; two sisters, Becky K. Odom (Steve) of Lexington, and Nancy K. Walser (Bill) of Clemmons; one granddaughter, Madison Bost (Tanner); three step-grandchildren, Olivia, Landyn, and Anderson Kesler; and very special friend, Michelle Morrison.
