Donald Leech

Donald Leech, age 87, passed away Tuesday morning at his home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at First Assembly of God, Winston-Salem, NC, where he was member, with the Rev. Elwood Rakes officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:00 AM prior to the service and other times at the home. Donald was born in Beaver County, PA to Jacob Test and Elizabeth Carner Leech on April 1, 1925. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, receiving the Purple Heart and was retired as a mathematician in the office of the Dean, at the US Military Academy at West Point. Donald’s parents, daughter, Karen Elizabeth Baxter and granddaughter, Ally Marie Gregg preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife Lois Marion Leech of the home; one son, John Henry Gregg of Winston-Salem; three daughters, Linda Diane Kallas and husband Ken of Rio Rico, AZ, Rachel Anne Gregg Sigmon and husband Matt of Haw River, NC, Jane Helen Gregg of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Paul Daniel Marshall, Anna Elizabeth Gregg. Memorials in Donald’s memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
