Donald Earl Minner

  Donald Earl Minner, age 78, of Lexington passed away Tuesday afternoon at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.   Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday at the First Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Ray Howell, III, Rev. Tommy Wilson, and Dr. David Whiteman.  Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.   The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church on Friday from 1:30 until 2:45 prior to the service.   Don was born in Harrisburg, IL on September 16, 1934 to the late Dan E. Minner and Lillian Massey Minner.  Don graduated from Western Kentucky University with a BS in Business.  He was the retired Vice President of Finance for Haywood County Medical Center in Waynesville, NC.  Don was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington, member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class and the Sanctuary Choir.  He also served in the US Army.   He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sidney Rodd Minner; a daughter, Kate Minner of Cary; a son Chris Minner and wife Carol of Lewisville and two grandsons, Kyle and Matthew Minner.   Memorials should be directed to First Baptist Church, PO Box 436, Lexington, NC  27293   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
