Donald George Roberts

Donald George Roberts, 79, of Upton Street, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at the Carolina Medical Center in Concord. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Mr. Roberts was born September 18, 1930 in Clinton County, N.Y., to Eva Atwater. He was of the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army. Mr. Roberts was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene White Roberts. Surviving is a daughter, Cindy Roberts of the home; one granddaughter, Stephanie Burdin and her husband, Lance Cpl. Joseph, of Jacksonville; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Hawkins and Eva Burdin both of Jacksonville.
