Donald D. Russell

Donald D.Russell, 70 of Roy Lopp Road, Lexington died Monday morning in Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem, after an illness of 8 weeks. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday at Holly Grove Lutheran Church by Pastor John Mocko and burial will follow in Holly Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery. Donald was born in Davidson County, December 18, 1936 to Gilbert Harrison Russell and Lola Conrad Russell. He was a member of Holly Grove Lutheran Church, and a retired employee of Dupont Chemical in Healing Springs after 24 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife Anita Lois Hedrick Russell, March 22, 1998 to whom he was married to for 39 years and their son Donald Trent Russell who died March 8, 1980. Surviving are his son; Dwight Russell and wife Robin of Charlottesville, VA, daughters; Pam Skipper and husband Malcolm of Lexington, Tracy Pressley and husband Glen of Tyro, five grandchildren; Sydney Skipper, Tyler and Ryan Barker, Camyron and Greyson Pressley, Sisters; Kat Varner, Myra Beck and husband Harold and Lib Jarrell all of Lexington. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 unitl 8:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington and at others times at the home.
