Donald McRay Snyder, 83, of Davidson County, passed away on April 27, 2026.

Born on January 6, 1943, in Davidson County, Donald was the son of the late Eldred McRay Snyder and Juanita Simmerson Snyder. He was a lifelong resident of the community he loved and was known for his simple nature, kind heart, and deep devotion to his family.

Donald found great joy in the outdoors, especially fishing and deer hunting. He cherished time spent at the beach with his family and took pride in cooking meals to share with those he loved. A dedicated sports fan, he faithfully supported NC State athletics, enjoying their basketball, baseball, and football teams.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brother Bob Snyder of Kansas.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Maines Snyder of Lexington; his two sons, Phil Snyder and Scott Snyder, both of Lexington; his brothers Charles Snyder (Suzanne) of Wake Forest, and Mike Snyder (Theresa) of Lexington; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Larry Brown and Greg McMahan.

A funeral service to honor Donald’s life will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Reeds Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place the evening prior, Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Donald will be remembered for his love of family, his generosity, and the quiet, steady way he touched the lives of those around him.
