Mrs. Sink was born in Davidson County on July 31, 1918 to David Bradley and Leona Palmer Hunt and was the sixth of eleven children.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Clifford, Lloyd, James, Adrian, Joe, Fred, and Ralph and by sisters Rosa Holmes, Virgie Wafford, and Treva Leonard.   She graduated from Linwood High School in 1936 and Salisbury School of Cosmetology.  She married Henry C. Following her retirement from Ideal Beauty Shop and Hunt’s Supermarket, Mrs. Sink continued to work on the family farm raising tobacco. She often worked all day to put in a barn of tobacco and then fixed a feast for all who helped that day with the tobacco.

Her family will cherish the conversations, wisdom, good times, and great food she shared around her table.  Mrs. Sink is survived by her daughter, Harriet S. Hege (Thom) and her son, Henry C. Sink, Jr. (Nancy).  Her four grandchildren: Chris Hege and his friend, Renee; Henry Sink, III (Amanda); Patrick Hege; and Jonathan Sink (Rebecca).  Her great grandchildren: Andrew Sink (mother Liz Sink); Coral Beck (mother Rebecca Sink); Connor Hege; Sophie Hege; Hudson Hege (mother Erica Hege); Avery Sink; and William Henry Sink.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Mrs. Sink’s caregivers at Alston Brook Rehabilitation for their kind and loving care.
