Donnie Ray Robbins, 51, of Clark Road, Linwood, died Monday, July 3, 2006, at Kindred Hospital, Greensboro, after declining health of four months.
The graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. David Hedrick. Burial will follow in the park.
Mr. Robbins was born July 27, 1954, in Davie County to Paul (Pete) Robbins and Margelene Allen Robbins. He was employed as a truck driver with Todeo Inc. and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Vickie Cook.
Surviving are his wife, Betty (Jean) Byrd Robbins, to whom he was married for 31 years, of the home; one son, Marty Ray Robbins of Linwood; one daughter, Angela Renee Swink and her husband, Roger, of Tyro; two grandchildren, Brandi Swink and Meagan Swink of Tyro; one brother, James (Tony) Edward Robbins of Lexington; three sisters, Sherry Potts and her husband, Dale, Gail Combs, all of Lexington, and Janice Taylor of Tyro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and at other times at the home.
