Mrs. Doretha Roberts Morrison, 89, of Second Rainbow Street, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 24, at the Hinkle Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 27 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church by Pastors J.C. Miles and Clyde Akers. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the son, Wayne Morrison on Second Rainbow Street.
Mrs. Morrison was born August 29, 1923 in Wilkes County to Reynolds Roberts and Lessie Money Roberts. She retired from Erlanger Mills and was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Her husband, Thurman Brady Morrison Sr., who died February 25, 1985, and her brothers, Grady Roberts and Leo Roberts, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Larry D. Morrison and wife, Linda, Wayne Morrison and wife, Doris, and Brady Morrison, Jr. and wife, Gloria, all of Lexington; her daughter, Velma Craver and husband, Jimmy, of Lexington; her brothers, Bill Roberts and wife, Betty, of Lexington, and J. R. Roberts and wife, Nannie, of Welcome; her sister, Annie Holleman of Lexington; her grandchildren, Angie Koontz, and husband, Tony, Dawn Jenkins and husband, Jeff, David Trivette and wife, Tamara, Tammy Tilley and husband, Charles, Sherry Byerly and husband, Travis, Jammie Callahan, Stephanie Beck and Mark, Misty Morrison and Mikeal, Dale Barrett and wife, Laura, Rodney Barrett, Annette Craver, Keith Barrett and wife, Patsy, and Scott Craver and wife, Carrie; and her great grandchildren, Matthew Jernigan and wife, Chelsea, Seth Stephens, Luke Stephens, Jenna Jenkins, Tonya Kelsey and husband, Michael, Jason Koontz and wife, Elainia, Ericka Koontz, Kierra Oles, Zach Tilley, Jared Tilley, Austin Byerly, Hunter Byerly, Katelin Byerly, Aaron Beck, Dylan Beck, Landon Beck, Dakotah Morrison, Jaden Buller, Jennifer Perryman and husband, Dean, Victoria Crawford and husband, Justin, Vernon Bame, Zain Barrett, Curtis Watts and wife, Brandi, Josh Barrett, Brandon Barrett, Jon Varner and Garner Craver; and 19 great great-grandchildren.
