Doris Caddell, 92, of Alston Brook Nursing Center, formerly of Woodcrest Drive, died Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Hinkle Hospice House following an extended illness.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Davidson Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Bitterman officiating. A private graveside service will be held. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son on East Holly Grove Road.
Mrs. Caddell was born April 21, 1922, in Rowan County, to Charles Roval Jackson and Pearl Scott Jackson. She was owner/operator of Doris’ Beauty Shop and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lexington. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Ivey Caddell who died February 13, 2000; brothers, Thomas Jackson and Arnold Jackson.
Surviving are her son, Charles Caddell and wife, Melinda of Lexington; and a special granddaughter, Catherine “Cat” Hord of Lexington.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Brian Center, Alston Brook and Hospice for the loving care given to Mrs. Caddell.
