Doris Allen Carlton

Doris Allen Carlton, age 81 of Oakdale Street, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning (June 16, 2010) at High Point Regional Medical Center.  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday (June 23, 2010) in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frankie Matthews officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Wednesday, prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home.   Doris was born in Johnston County, NC September 10, 1928 to Investious Allen and Riddley Holmes Allen.  She was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church and the VFW Auxillary. She was a retired employee of Young Hinkle Furniture.  Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack R. Carlton on May 12, 2004; four brother and two sisters.   Surviving are; three sons, Van Carlton, wife Brenda, Jeff Carlton and wife Marie all of Lexington and Bentley Carlton and wife Lori of Mocksville; four grandchildren, Todd Carlton, Joel Carlton, Shiloh Carlton and Zoe Carlton; one step-grandson, Robert Weaver, Jr.; four step-great-grandchildren, Josh, Jacob, Destiny and Levi Weaver.     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
