Doris Chapman Floyd, 80, of NC Highway 47, passed away Saturday, November 15 at Hinkle Hospice House.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, November 21, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Bethany United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Talbert. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home at other times at the home.
She was born April 1, 1934 in Davidson County to Leland Lee Chapman and Retta Parks Chapman. She retired from Frank Ix and Sons and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband Bryce David Floyd,and brothers Leland Chapman, Jr. (Grace) and Thomas Melvin Chapman (Ruby).
Surviving are her daughters, Lynn Floyd Cook and husband, Doug, of Pagosa Springs, CO and Tanya Floyd Coppley and husband, Lewis, of Lexington; five grandchildren, Christi Burch Hunt, Jennifer Ange and partner Feroz Khan, Cole Cook, John Ange, Jr. and Carmen Cook Castleberry; and five great grandchildren, Olivia Hunt, Zachary Khan; Ania Khan, Mack Castleberry and Haven Castleberry and sister Nancy Chapman Smith (Clyde) of Lexington.
