Doris Smith Flynt

Doris Juanita Smith Flynt, 93 of Lexington, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Piedmont Crossing.

Mrs. Flynt will lie in state from 3:00pm until 4:00pm on Sunday, November 29 th at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

A private service was held November 30 th at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Elizabeth Horton officiating.

Mrs. Flynt was born in Davidson County on March 29, 1927 to Wade and Sula Smith.  She was the owner of Tyro Casuals and Prestige Fashion.  She was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ where she enjoyed her Sunday school class and Friendship Club.  She loved to travel nationally and internationally.  She was known for her cakes, always willing to share one.  She was happiest when helping her family and others.  She enjoyed making stained glass and collecting carousel horses, flower gardening, sewing and playing games with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul H. Flynt, Jr.; a sister, Colleen Gravely; brother, James Edmond Smith and granddaughter, Connie Annette Morgan.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Vonceil Vawter (Willie), Paulette Morgan (Johnny), both of Lexington, Kim Haynes (Bob) of Dahlonega, GA.; 5 grandchildren, Paul Vawter (Cindy), Julee Haynes Safstrom (Dan), Beth  Haynes Owens (Brad), Jane Morgan Rafferty (Keith), Monica Morgan Means (Nick) and 7 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Reformed UCC, 104 E. Center Street, Lexington, NC 27292.
