Doris Essick Hedrick

Doris Essick Hedrick, age 78 of Bud Sink Road, Lexington passed away Thursday afternoon at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday at Union Grove Baptist Church where she was a member with Revs. Ken Harris, T.W. Bailey and Dr. Harold Fletcher officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday. Doris was born in in Davidson County, November 30, 1934 to Harvey Essick and Mary Dorsett Essick. She was retired from Stanley Furniture. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roby Hedrick; daughter, Rose Marie Landreth; sisters, Ruby McGuire, Lee Ann Snipes and Elaine Walser; brothers, Bruce and Boyd Essick. Doris is survived by her daughter; Helen Louise Medlin of Lexington; sons, Charles Hedrick, Rick Hedrick (Vickie), Gene Hedrick all of Lexington; Steve Hedrick (Lona) of Hickory; adopted son, Barry Hedrick (Jeannie) of Thomasville; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Garland Essick (Mildred) of Lexington, William Essick (Sharon) of Hollywood, MD; sister-in-law, Nancy Essick of Sophia.
