Doris Petrea Everhart Helms

Doris Petrea Everhart Helms, age 93 of Petrea Road, Lexington passed away Monday evening at Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held 3:00 Pm Thursday, May 3, 2018 at First Lutheran Church, where she was a member with Rev. Matthew Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday night and the church fellowship hall from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to service. Doris was born in Cabarrus County, September 20, 1924 to Wright Matthew Petrea and Cora Sink Petrea. She was a retired employee of Davidson County Schools and retired as secretary at West Davidson High School. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ernest Jackson Everhart in 1971. Surviving are her daughters, Jane Everhart Kennedy (Bill) of Lexington, SC and Peggy Everhart Nance (Gary) of Lexington, NC; grandsons, Billy Kennedy (Shirley) and Matthew Kennedy (Robyn); great-grandsons, Jack and Ryan Kennedy; step-granddaughter, Shelley Laughter; step-great-grandson, Preston Laughter.
