Doris Hewett Hicks

Doris Hewett Hicks, 50, of Old Salisbury Road, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at her home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Arrington Heights Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. Doug McGee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hicks was born June 12, 1957 in Forsyth County to Arthur Devon Hewett and Emma Wright Hewett. She was a former employee at Daran Furniture and was employed at Yarborough’s Restaurant. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frankie “Slim” Hicks and stepfather, Jack Gordon Hill. Surviving are son, Steven Ray Hewett of Thomasville; daughters, Angela Kilby Jones of Linwood and Terri Marie Gaither of Lexington; grandchildren, Stephen Jones, Christopher Jones, Demoriai Millner, Kelly Dawn Gaither, Austin Gaither and Kelly Marie; brothers, Carry Hill of Lexington, Kenneth Hill of Lewisville, and Bobby Jacobs of Virginia; and sisters, Dottie Hensley and husband, Duke, and Jackie McGuire, all of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the sister, Dottie Hensley, 206 Reich Street, Lexington.
