Doris Snider Howard

June 13, 1930 — October 19, 2024

Mrs. Doris Snider Howard, 94, of Swicegood Road, passed away Saturday, October 19, at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Angela Powell.  Burial will follow at Sandy Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 prior to the service in Pless Hall

Mrs. Howard was born June 13, 1930 in Davidson County to Ellis Mock Snider and Leona Michael Snider. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hugh Chester Howard on March 5, 2008, and sister, Donese Snider Myers. Mrs. Howard loved to travel and taught herself to Crochet and made many items over the years.

She is survived by her son, Timothy “Tim” Howard (Donna) of Tyro; her daughter, Nelda Bennett (Charles) of Tyro; brothers Harvey J Snider and his wife Mary Ruth, Darrell Snider and his wife Josie; her grandchildren, Todd Bennett and Brynn Dillander (Jeremy); step-grandchildren, Dana Bennett, Gina Bennett, Jason Lemley, Jessica Lemley, Josh and Toby Lemley; 14 great-grandchidlren, Mycaela Bennett, Brandon Bennett, Aiden Coates, Madden Coates, Anson Lemley, Ashlyn Lemley, Emerson Lemley, Lawson Lemley, John Uzzell,Cadence Dillander, Jasmine Dillander, Chloe Dillander, Hugh Ellis Bennett and Bain Miller Bennett and 3 great-great grandchildren, Weslyn, Piper and Willa.

Pallbearers are Todd Bennett, Hugh Bennett, Bain Bennett, Brandon Bennett, Jeremy Dillander, and Jim Wilson.

The family would like to thank her caregivers Karen and Brenda Laney.  We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to them for their years of dedicated service. Their compassion and unwavering support have touched the lives of many, bringing comfort and joy during difficult times. We celebrate their commitment and the positive impact they made in our family. Thank you.

The family would also like to thank her neices Jamie Snider and Anita Wilson for their time and commitment to Mom's care over the last few years.
