Doris Jean Surratt Everhart

Mrs. Doris Jean Surratt Everhart, 72 of Welcome Bethesda Road, Lexington died Tuesday December 5, 2006 at her home. Doris was born January 1, 1934 in Davidson County to George Surratt and Margaret Phelps Surratt. She was a homemaker and drove a Davidson County School Bus for special needs children. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, the Friendship Circle and the Suzanna Wesley Class. She was also a member of the choir. Her husband, Ray Donald Everhart, and a sister Jayne Walser preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Jeffery Everhart and his wife Sandra of Thomasville and Donnie Everhart and his wife Francia of Sydney Australia. One daughter, Melinda Lain and her husband Bob of Indianapolis Indiana. Four brothers, Randy Surratt and his wife Mickey, Jerry Surratt and his wife Betty and Robert Surratt all of Lexington and Jimmy Surratt and his wife Sue of Oklahoma. Four sisters, Sylvia Surratt, Loraine Burke and her husband Larry and Camelyn Surratt all of Lexington and Hazel Shook and her husband Bill of Delaware. Seven Grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle and Chloe Everhart all of Thomasville, Tristan Lain of Indiana and Karis, Joshua and Sarah Everhart all of Australia. The Family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel Saturday from 6 until 8 pm and at other times at the home of the son in Thomasville. A funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, December 10,at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Doug Hochmuth and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church Family Life Center 2922 Bethesda Road, Lexington, N.C. 27295.
