Doris Long

Doris Clodfelter Long, 86 of Old Thomasville Road went to be with the Lord Thursday May 14, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Canaan United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Ireson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Ms Long was born December 2, 1922 to Carl William Clodfelter and Lucy Williard Clodfelter. She was retired from Western Electric and a member of Canaan United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Wilburn Eli Long. A daughter in law Paula Long. She is survived by two sons, Sammy Kay Long and wife Carolyn and David Eli Long all of Winston Salem. Brothers; Norman E. Clodfelter, G. Farrell Clodfelter, W. Leland Clodfelter all of Winston Salem. Sisters; Evva C. Zimmerman of Winston Salem, Emma Jean C. Hunt of Lexington. Grandchildren; 4, Great grandchildren; 5. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel.
