Doris Lipe Mccarn

Doris Lipe Graham McCarn, 90, of Hillside Drive, died Thursday, March 03, 2016, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Lexington City Cemetery with the Revs. Jamie Armstrong and Doug Rowe officiating. The family will receive friends at 711 Highland Drive with public visitation being from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday. Mrs. McCarn was born November 29, 1925, in Rowan County, to John K. Graham and Inez Lipe Graham. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. McCarn had been employed at Manhattan Shirt Company for many years and later retired from Lexington City Schools where she had been a cook. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Harvey McCarn Sr.; brothers, Carl Graham and Thomas Graham; and sisters, Ruth Brown, Mary Helen Poteat. Surviving are sons, Charles “Binky” Harvey McCarn Jr. and wife Vickie and Johnny Keith McCarn and wife Lynn, all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Brandi Gerew and husband Joe of Raleigh, Jordan McCarn of Winston-Salem, Andrew McCarn, Courtney Grimsley and husband Wesley, all of Lexington and Kelly Thompson and Eddie of Graham; and sister, Polly Sutton of Charleston, SC.
