Doris Ann Blankenship Mode

Doris Ann Blankenship Mode, 72, of E. Center Street, died Friday, January 21, 2011, at Alston Brook Nursing Home. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Green officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011 and other times at the home. Mrs. Mode was born August 3, 1938, in Catawba County, to John Woodrow Blankenship and Virgie Viola Evans Blankenship. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Mack Blankenship and John Woodrow Blankenship. Surviving are her husband, Buren Lee Mode of the home; son, Dale Wayne Mode of Lexington; daughter, Wanda Mode Morhard of Charlotte; grandchildren, Victoria Leigh Lowe, Michael Alan Morhard, and Kelly Elizabeth Morhard; great-granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth Adams; and sister, Nancy Blankenship Owen of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Alston Brook Nursing Care, 4748 Old Salisbury Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
