Doris Mull Morris

Doris Mull Morris, 82, of Salisbury North Carolina, formerly of Lexington N.C., passed away September 3, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis N.C. Doris was born in Morganton, N.C. to the late Pansy Mae Lingerfelt and Colon Phifer (Bill) Mull, on August 19, 1934. She was raised following the death of her mother at the Junior Order Children’s Home in Lexington, N.C., by many special, loving matrons. She self-adopted Doris Eileen McKinny as her mother and that relationship remained the same until Ms. McKinny’s passing. She attended school at the Junior Home until her senior year. She graduated from Lexington Senior High School in 1952. Doris was voted Most Talented during her senior year in the Senior Superlatives. She went to work at Manhattan Shirt Company following her graduation and later Southern First Aid Supply Company. Her last years of employment were spent at Myers & Myers CPA where she was employed for 20 years. She was thoroughly devoted to Harold and Ted and their clients, dearly loving the interaction she had with each and every one of them. Doris was a loving mother, granny, great grandmother, siste,r and devoted friend. One of her greatest joys in her life was her grandson, Hunter and his academic and athletic accomplishments: watching him grow into a loving and caring young man, going to watch him play football at The Citadel, attending his ring ceremony, and watching him graduate. These were the major highlights in her life. Doris was preceded in death by her loving matron, Doris McKinney, who served as a loving “mother” to her and “grandmother” to Terri and Wayne; brothers Edgar Harris, Mory June Mull, Tommy Lee Mull, and loving niece Leisa Broome Tucker. Doris is survived by her most precious creations and blessings from God, daughter Terri Morris of Salisbury, N.C., son Wayne Morris and wife Lisa of Mooresville N.C.; granddaughter Brittany Elizabeth Huffman of Concord N.C.; grandson, Hunter Alexander Morris of Mooresville; great-granddaughter Madelyn Grace Stanly; her sisters Sue Broome of Charlotte N.C. and Linda Hedrick of Denton. N.C.; sister-in-laws Mary June Mull of Burbank, Ca., and Annie Mull of Sun Valley, Ca.; nieces Pam Oliver Ella Smith, Susan Myers, Kelly Lazaro, Caryn DiSurro, and Megan Mull; nephews, Greg Mull, Gary Mull, Dean Mull, and Brian Mull; and a host of great nieces and nephews, family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2016. There will be no formal visitation.
