Doris Smyre

Doris Ann Vanhorn Smyre, 66, of Lexington passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Pastor Ryan Showalter officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smyre was born on March 2, 1953 in Louisa, KY to Harold Eugene Vanhorn and Ivory Mae Lemaster Vanhorn. She was retired from Baker Furniture, having worked in polishing and was a loving mother, grandmother and sister whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Smyre; a son, Fernando Zamora; a brother, Glenn Vanhorn; and three sisters, Junetta Reuter, Norma Brown and Laura Miller.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Melissa Zamora Torreblanca (Cesar) of Winston Salem, Hermilo “Bubba” Zamora (Amanda) of Lexington and Angelina Pack (Brad) of Advance; two brothers, Bill Vanhorn and Prichard Vanhorn; four sisters, Rachel Ratcliff (Keith), Iris Burchett (Glenn), Deb Vanhorn and Vickie Geyer (Dick); nine grandchildren, Jordan, Kyle, Brandon, Autumn, Zoey, Miley, Stryson, Samora and Sebastian; and four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Maggie, Kaiden and Waylen.
