Mrs. Dorothea Stiff Oliver, 90, of Maxwell Drive, died Monday, March 21 at the Hinkle Hospice House after declining health.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 27 at First United Methodist Church by the Rev. Kelley Groce. Inurnment will take place in Traverse City, MI.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Oliver was born on May 10, 1920 in Lansing, MI to George and Minnie Walters Stiff. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist Faith. Her husband, James Patrick Oliver, preceded her in death as well as her son, Thomas Oliver, and her daughter, Karen Oliver.
She is survived by her son, Monty Oliver and wife, Joyce, of Lexington; her brother, Ralph Stiff of St. George, UT; her sister, Phyllis Tuuri of Grants Pass, OR; her grandchildren, Corinna Clark and husband, Chris, of Zeeland, MI, Victoria Ulrich and husband, Billy, of Rocky Point; Kevin Oliver of Grand Rapids, MI, Julie Milner and husband, Chad, of Lexington, and Jon Carpenter and wife, Kathy, of Winston Salem; and her great grandchildren, Alyssa Beck, Heather Beck, Logan Clark, Carsen Milner, and Natalie Carpenter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Hinkle Hospice House, 202 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292.
