Dorothy Snider Bivens, 78 of Lee Smith Rd., Lexington died Friday morning January 14, 2011 in Hinkle Hospice House after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday January 16, 2011 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Garren officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Sunday prior to the service.
Mrs. Bivens was born February 5, 1932 in Rowan County to Marvin Monroe Snider and Leona Sue Clodfelter Snider. She was a graduate of Lexington Business College and retired from Quality Hardware. She was a member of Revival Center Mission Church in Thomasville. Her parents; granddaughter, Michelle Wicker and sister Louise West preceded her in death.
Surviving are son Tony Bivens of Lexington and daughter Catherine Vess and husband, Gerald of Old Fort, NC; grandchildren Chan’telle Lytle; Toby Bivens; Lauren Bivens; Meredith Pitt; Micah Williams; Tonya Kelly and Tracy Vess and former husband, Lawrence Rayford Bivens of Lexington.
The family would like to thank her Caregiver and friend, Mattie Murdock for her loving care of Dorothy.
