Dorothy was born on June 5, 1936, in Wilson County, NC, to Jimmie Preston Baker and Lillie Woodard Baker. She grew up in a nurturing environment, filled with love and kindness. Throughout her life, Dorothy exemplified the values of compassion, faith, and devotion to her loved ones. A faithful member of First Baptist Church in Welcome, Dorothy found solace and strength in her spiritual community. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, shaping her character and influencing her interactions with others. She was known for her unwavering commitment to her church and her willingness to serve others.

Dorothy's role as a grandmother brought her immense joy and fulfillment.

Throughout her journey, Dorothy faced both joys and sorrows with grace and resilience. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Elwood Brinkley, her son, Charles Franklin Brinkley, her daughter, Barbara Sink, and her sister, Ella Mooring. While their absence left a void in her heart, Dorothy found comfort in the cherished memories they shared.

She poured her heart into nurturing and caring for her grandchildren, Jason Sink and Kristy Tarleton (Casey). Her love extended to her great-grandchildren, Joseph, John, Hunter, Tanner, and Jackson, who brought endless delight to her life. She was also survived by a brother, Donald Lee Baker; and a sister, Jackie Loney.

In honoring Dorothy's legacy, her family kindly requests that memorials be directed to the First Baptist Church of Welcome Deaf Ministry or to Hospice of Davidson County. These contributions will serve as a meaningful tribute to Dorothy's spirit of generosity and compassion.

Davidson Funeral Home is honored to assist the family during this time of remembrance and reflection.

Dorothy Jean Baker Brinkley will be remembered fondly for her loving nature, her unwavering faith, and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire and uplift others for generations to come. As we mourn her passing, we take solace in knowing that she has found peace in the arms of her heavenly Father. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
