Dorothy Virginia Walker Casey

August 15, 1930 — June 8, 2006

Dorothy Virginia Walker Casey, 75, of Whitman Drive, died Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Bethesda United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Doug Hochmuth and Brother David Hedrick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Casey was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Detroit, Mich., to Paul Marcus Walker and Lena Naomi Hagerman Walker. She was retired from PPG Industries and was a member of the Suzanne Wesley Sunday School Class at her church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harold Casey; her son-in-law, Donny Wood, who died June 2, 2006; and two sisters, Sue Walker Martin and Mildred Walker Owen. Surviving are two sons, Garry Casey and his wife, Diane, and Alan Casey, all of Lexington; one daughter, Paulette Wood of Lexington; two grandchildren, William Troy Wood and his wife, Sara, of Lexington, and Crystal Marshall and her husband, David, of Elizabethton, Tenn.; and two great-grandchildren, Madelyn Grace Wood of Lexington and Zackary Marshall of Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home of the daughter. Memorials may be directed to Family Life Center, Bethesda United Methodist Church, 2922 Bethesda Road, Lexington, NC 27295. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kenneth Gallup and his staff and the entire eighth-floor staff at Forsyth Medical Center for the excellent care given to Mrs. Casey during her illness.
