Dorothy “Dot” Walsh Chaney died Tuesday October 9, 2007 in Forsyth Medical Center and had been in declining health for 5 years. A Memorial service will be held Saturday October 13, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. David Shaffer officiating.
Mrs. Chaney was born in Cuyahoga County, OH, to Thomas J. Walsh and Ethel Kocha Walsh. Before retirement she was a secretary for Mannington, Inc. At Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, she was a Sunday school teacher, was on the Coggins Child Development Center committee and the church’s finance committee. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1st husband, Anthony Charles Miklich who died in 1967.
Surviving are her husband, James Lee “Jim” Chaney of the home; sons, Tony Miklich of Lexington and Troy Chaney and wife Anna of Raleigh and daughter, Debbie Eckert of Lexington; grandchildren, Mollie Walker and husband Josh of Lexington; David Eckert of Lexington Conner Chaney and Noah Chaney both of Raleigh; brother, Thomas R. Walsh and wife Barbara of Cleveland, OH and sisters, Ethel Bernauer and husband Henry (Hank) of Cleveland, OH and Eleanor Gast of Port Clinton, OH.
The family will receive friends after the service at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church and at other times at the home 2002 Sunshine Lane.
