Dorothy "Dot" Whittington Pate

Dorothy “Dot” Whittington Pate, age 85 of Mt. Carmel Road, Lexington passed away Sunday morning August 9, 2020 at her home after a brief illness.

A service to honor her life will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Mr. Tony Morrison officiating. Dot will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Wednesday for the public to pay their respects. The family will receive friends at her home following the service Thursday and ask,  due to the COVID pandemic those attending practice social distancing and when at all possible wear a mask.

Dot was born in Durham County NC to John William Goodman and Mae Goodman. She was a waitress for many years at the Corner Kitchen, where she made many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Cleo Whittington and Dewey Pate; her sons, Steve Rickey Brown and Dale Brown; a granddaughter, Jessica Brown and a sister Darlene Stephens.

Surviving are her son, Chris Brown (Betty) of Lexington; grandchildren, Stephanie Parsons, Stevie Brown, Amanda Plouffe, Christi Thomas and Toy Brown; 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
