Dorothy Bean Eller, 91, of Belmont Road, Linwood, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, in Brookstone Nursing Home. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by Preacher Clyde Akers. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and other times at the home of the daughter on Belmont Road. Mrs. Eller was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Davidson County to Ernest Lonzo Bean and Viola Mae Godfrey Bean. She was retired from Erlanger Mills and was a member of Spruce Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ernest Lee Eller; five brothers, Theodore Bean, Richard Bean, Paul Bean, Tom Bean and Vernon Bean; two sisters, Juanita Myers and Edith Shore; and a son-in-law, Bobby Woodall. Surviving are one son, Mack Eller Jr. and wife Bonnie of Lexington; one daughter, Jean Woodall of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Anna Hinkle, Patty Newland, Cindy Laxton, Sandra Black, Lee Eller Jr., Ricky Franks, Kenny Franks and Jennifer Franks; 16 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Sue Eller of Winston-Salem; and a sister-in-law, JoAnn Bean of Denton. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Brookstone Retirement Center as well as to the staff at The Hinkle Hospice Home.
