Dorothy Brinson Gillen

Dorothy Brinson Gillen, age 87, of Trantham Road, Lexington passed away Thursday morning at her home.  Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday (June 1, 2011) at Salisbury National Cemetery with David Langley officiating. Dorothy was born in Pittsylvania County, VA to Alonza Dewey Brinson and Daisy Nobles Brinson. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal Faith.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Gean Gillen on December 22, 1979. Surviving are; two daughters, Georgeanna Woolroff and husband Carl of Grand Junction, CO, and Joyce Hewlett and husband Ted of Wilmington, NC; two sons, Ray Gillen and Alonza Gillen both of Lexington; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.; two brothers, Ray Brinson of Conway, SC and Jimmy Brinson and wife  Shirley of Durham.
