Dorothy Brewer Hanes

Dorothy Brewer Hanes, 93, of Lexington passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Reedy Creek Church of Christ with Ray Graham and James Percival officiating, burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends for a casual visitation on Saturday afternoon, at Mrs. Hanes home from 3:00-6:00 PM, and following the burial on Sunday.

Dorothy was born in Davidson County, on May 4, 1926 to Lindsey Edward Brewer and Mary Weaver Brewer. Mrs. Hanes was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Hoyle Hanes, her parents, and ten siblings.

She is survived by her two sons, Randy Hanes (Jane) and Jimmy Hanes (Sherry) both of Lexington, NC; two daughters, Faye Spencer (Benny) of Arcadia, and Roxie Hanes Lunsford of Clemmons; eight grandchildren: April Atwood (Mark); Misty Varner (Jason); Bart Lunsford; Brent Hanes (Shannon) Zackary Hanes; Tyler Hanes (Meredith); Mark Spencer; Kregg Spencer; ten great-grandchildren: Sophia, Savana, Brittney, Alex, Josh, Anna, Chaney, Ivy, Annaleigh and Bryson; and three great-great grandchildren: Emma, Brayden and Kaiden.

Davidson Funeral Home-Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the Hanes family.
