Dorothy Creola Livengood Koontz 90 of Sharon Drive, Lexington, went home to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 7. A funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday November 10, 2007 at Spruce Street Baptist Church, where she was a member, conducted by Rev. Terry Coates and Sammy Allison. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Koontz was born November 26 1916 in Davidson County to W.A. Livengood and Jessie Forrest Livengood. She was a graduate of Reeds High School. She and her husband, Kerney Koontz owned and operated The Green Door Restaurant and later Kerneys Drive Inn for 55 years until their retirement. She was a preceded in death by her parents, her husband; three sons: Kerney Lee Koontz Jr., Dan Koontz, and Roger Dale Koontz; a step daughter, Doris Daniel; and two Grandchildren:Christopher Koontz and Brandi Koontz. Surviving are her son, Arnold Bruce Koontz and his wife, Gail, of Lexington; 8 Grandchildren, 2 Step Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren, and many loving Nieces and Nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home on Sharon Drive, Lexington. Memorials may be made to Spruce Street Baptist Church 407 Spruce Street, Lexington, and NC 27292 or to Life Center of Davidson County 601 West Center Street, Lexington, NC 27292
