Dorothy Mae Carrick Parker

Dorothy Mae Carrick Parker, 94, of Lexington Health Care, formerly of Briggs Road, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Hinkle Hospice House. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Queen officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Mrs. Parker was born August 20, 1920, in Davidson County, to Jefferson Lee Carrick and Mary Jane Gallimore Carrick. She was a charter member of Mountain View Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Arthur Parker, who died January 19, 2010. Surviving are her son, Roger Parker and wife Barbara of Lexington; daughters, Pat Earnhardt Ledford and husband Michael of Greensboro and Carolyn Sink and husband Randel of Raleigh; grandchildren, Kim Ferrick, Tracey Phillips, Shelley Sink, Makesha Sink, Jason Parker, and Jennifer Parker Smith; and 11 great-grandchildren.
