Dorothy Grubb Peacock, 78, of Stepp Grubb Road, died Monday, October 13, 2008, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Yadkin Baptist Church, Spencer, where she was a charter member, by the Rev. David Ayers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Peacock was born August 16, 1930, in Davidson County, to Stepp Robertson Grubb and Bertha Bell Koontz Grubb. She was a retired seamstress from Pioneer Sewing and former pianist at her church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, James Matthew Grubb and a sister, Sadie Coughenour.
Surviving are the special people in her life; her husband, Richard Peacock of the home; daughter, Rhonda Penley and husband, Jessie; two grandchildren, Eric Perry and Amanda Perry of Goldhill; one great-grandchild, Corbin Earnhardt of Goldhill; nieces and nephews, Eddie and Joyce Coughenour of Linwood; Rick and Beverly Earnhart, Jonathan Earnhardt and Anna Troutman, all of Rockwell, Nathan and Misty Earnhardt of Goldhill, and Eric Goodyear of Thomasville.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church and other times at the home.
