Dorothy Penry

Mrs. Dorothy Yow Penry, age 98 of Southmont, NC died Saturday, September 22 at Alston Brook Nursing Home. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, September 24 at Stoners Grove Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Billy Pearson and Dr. Ray Howell, III. Mrs. Penry was born April 26, 1914 in Stanly County to Albert Yow and Minnie Walker Yow. She was a member of Stoners Grove Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was married to John Rodwell Penry who died June 20, 1990. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Jane Ellen Penry and another daughter Janice Penry who died June 15, 2006, by a sister Frances Fry and a brother Ernest Yow She is survived by a son, John Rodwell Penry, Jr. and wife Phyllis of Lexington; grandchildren Mark Graves, John Penry and Jane Penry; 2 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
