Dorothy Ree Hege Leonard

Dorothy Ree Hege Leonard, 83, of Academy Drive, died Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Pilgrim Reformed Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Steve Disher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mrs. Leonard was born July 9, 1930, in Davidson County, to William McKinley Hege and Minnie Lee Hege Hege. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Gilmer Lee Hege and J.W. Hege; and a sister, Lucille Hege Hedrick. Surviving are her husband, Jessie Boyd Leonard of the home; son, Reginald Boyd Leonard of the home; Shelia Ward and husband Charlie of Lexington; grandson, Kevin Lee Byerly (Rhonda Culler Freedle); great-grandson, Noah Cash Byerly; and brother, Floyd L. Hege.
