Dorothy Lopp Scarlett

Dorothy Lopp Scarlett, 90, of North County Home Road in Lexington, passed away at her home on May 9, 2018.   Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ with Rev. Darrell Sluder officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, May 11th from 2:30 to 3:30 pm at the church prior to the service.   Ms. Scarlett was born on July 28, 1927 in Davidson County to William Avery Lopp and Claudie Sink Lopp.  She was a graduate of Davis Townsend and retired from Manhattan Shirt Company.  Dorothy was a faithful member of Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ.  She will be greatly missed by her great-grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as “Geat Geat”.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Albert ‘Al’ Lee Scarlett.   Surviving are her daughter, Sherry Scarlett Hedrick (Richard) of Lexington; sisters, Virginia White of Lexington and Betty Brinkley (John) of New Bern; one grandchild, Todd Warfford (Cherie), and two great-grandchildren, Dalton Warfford and Alyson Warfford, of Lexington.   In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to JDRF Piedmont Triad Chapter, 216 W.
