Dorothy Jarvis Gobble Scarlette

Dorothy Gobble Scarlette, 86, of Pine Ridge Nursing Home, formerly of Allen Drive, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the nursing home. The funeral will be 4 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home, with Pastor Allen Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Robin Gillespie, on Poppy Lane. Mrs. Scarlette was born June 23, 1927, in Davidson County, to Edward Conley Jarvis and Sallie Elizabeth Hege Jarvis. She was a former employee of PPG and a member of God’s Way Revival Ministries. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Clyde, Harvey, Ernest, Jim and Grady Jarvis; and sisters, Ruth Powell and Annie Younts. Surviving are a son, James Gobble and wife, Carol; and daughters, Robin Gillespie and husband David of Lexington and Vickie Athey and husband Jim of W. Virginia; grandchildren, Russ, Ginger, Josh, Jeremy, Sherry, Matt, Kelly, and Scotty; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
