Dorothy Earp Swicegood

Dorothy Earp Swicegood, 89, of Feezor Road, died Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Abbotts Creek Rehabilitation and Care Center. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Max Shoaf officiating. Burial will follow. The family has requested no formal visitation. Mrs. Swicegood was born June 20, 1925, in Johnston County, to Walter Aaron Earp and Caroline Elle Revells Earp. She was a homemaker and a member of Psalm 91 Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Adam Swicegood; a daughter, Ellen Jones; and brother, Albert Earp. Surviving are sons, David Childress and wife Barbara of Lexington and Walter Childress and wife Susan of Southmont; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. The family wants to give many thanks to the nurses at Abbotts Creek for all their loving care.
