Dorothy Marie Walker went to meet the Lord Jesus after a longtime illness on October 10, 2009.
A memorial service will be held at Shiloh United Methodist Church, at 2 p.m. Today, October 13, 2009 with the Rev. Matt Farabow officiating.
Dottie was born to Paul and Agnes Walker on February 5, 1932, whom preceded her in death. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church for approximately 70 years. She lived in Winston Salem and retired from Forsyth County Department of Social Services. She continued to help many people after her retirement and became a certified nursing assistant.
Surviving are her daughter, Martha Wilson; a son, Mark Wilson and wife, Penny; a granddaughter, Deanna Wilson; a brother, Joe Walker and wife, Rosalind; a nephew Dana Walker and wife, Tammy; a great niece Courtney Williams and her husband, Brandon; a great nephew Phillip Walker; and three great-great-nieces, Jada, Sophie and Payton Williams.
In Dotties last day Jesus said come walk with me for your time on earth is done your children have been raised and so has your granddaughter to continue to walk with me.
The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the immediate family ask that memorials in Dotties name be made to the Building Fund of Shiloh United Methodist Church, New Family Life Center, 943 NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
