Dorothy Willard Widener

Dorothy Willard Widener 73 of Winston-Salem passed away late Wednesday night at Forsyth Medical Center.  A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, October 17, 2016 at Faith Church with Pastor Michael Gates officiating.  Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.   A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.   Dorothy was born in Forsyth County on February 18, 1943 to the late Lester Forest Willard and Mary Elizabeth Callahan Willard.  She had worked at State Farm Insurance and was a member of Faith Church.  She was preceded also in death by her first husband, Gary Monroe Wilkins and two brothers, Richard and Wayne Willard.   She is survived by her husband Ervin Malcum Widener, Jr. of the home; sons, Jeffrey Monroe Wilkins (Kathy) of Summerfield, NC, David W. Widener (LeAnn) of Rockland, CA, Dennis W. Widener (Lisa) of Vail, AZ; daughter, Debra G. Murray (Critnon) of Lompoc, CA; brothers, Robert F. Willard (Emily) of Winston-Salem, David Willard (Jeanne) of Winston-Salem; sister, Phyllis Willard Cooke (Lanny) of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Ben Chesney, Joshua Chesney, Dane Widener, Dylan Widener, Tatyana Widener, Miranda Widener, Olivia Widener, Keenan Widener and Kyson Widener, Truly Murray and Chris Murray; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.   Memorials may be made to Faith Church, 1078 Gumtree Road, Winston-Salem, NC  27107.   Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Road is assisting the family.
