Dot Benner

Dorothy Ailene Miles Benner, age 63, passed away Wednesday (11-5-2014) at Hinkle Hospice House., after a period of declining health. The family will see friends 5:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. No services will be held. Dorothy was born in Rowan County on September 13, 1951 to George William Miles and Margaret Frances Brown Miles. She was retired from the Cafeteria at Fairgrove Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Patricia Ann Hancock. She is survived by husband, David T. Benner of the home; son, William David Benner(Amanda) of Lexington; step-daughter, Cassandra Benner; brothers, Harold Miles of Columbus OH, Gary Miles of Lexington, and Bobby Miles of Salisbury; sisters, Bessie Jo Miles, Sara Jean Miles both of Lexington and Martha Ann Miles of Holly Ridge NC; grandchildren, Ashley and Destiny Hancock, Ryley Benner; nine nieces and four nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dot’s memory can be given to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
