Dottie Anne Hewett Hensley 53 of Reich Street, Lexington died Saturday at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Doug McGee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hensley was born August 6, 1955, in Columbus County, to Arthur Devon Hewett and Emma Wright Hewett. She was a manager of Buck’s Convenience Store. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gurstle “Duke” Hensley, who died February 22, 2008. Also preceding her in death were a son, Duke Wayne Hensley; a daughter, Emily Anne Hensley; and a sister, Doris Hicks. Surviving are a daughter, Jessica Necole Hensley; two grandchildren, Ashley Hensley and Devin Hensley; brothers, Robert J. Jacobs and wife, Jammie, of Virginia, Carry Hill of Lexington, Kenneth Hill of Lewisville, James Hewett and Earl Hewett, both of Kernersville; and sisters, Jackie McGurie of Tyro, Jackie Conine of Lake City, Fla., and Patricia Shelton of Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church, 455 Freewill Circle, Lexington, NC 27295.
