Douglas Mcarthur Maynard

Douglas McArthur Maynard, 67, of Ed Tiser Road, died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center. A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014, at the home of his son 1496 Old Linwood Road. Mr. Maynard was born August 7, 1946, in Logan, WVa., to Bernard Russell Maynard Sr. and Maggie Hatfield Maynard. He was retired from Tarheel Paving. His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are his loving wife, Donna Lawson Maynard of the home; son, Steve Maynard of Lexington; daughters, Stephanie Murphy of Charlotte, Bonita Williams of Asheboro, and Charlette Allen of Hickory; nine grandchildren, Chadell Burton, Trisha William, Jennifer Loflin, Dillion Poole, Jeremy Murphy, Samantha Goodrich, Britini Allen, Ember Allen, Christopher Allen; eight great-grandchildren, Jared Burton, Jordan Burton, Jacob Burton, Savannah Burton, Emma Burton, Laila Burton, Triston Moffitt, and Jackson Moffitt; brothers, Donald Ellis, Bernard Russell Maynard Jr., Russell Maynard, all of West Virginia, and Robert Maynard of Churchland; and sisters, Vivian Perry, Glenda Bartram, Lena Adkins, and Misty Maynard, all of West Virginia.
