Druid Wayne Sink

January 22, 1941 — March 27, 2020

Hazel’s blue eyed boy with the biggest smile finally joined her in heaven. Druid “Wayne” Sink formerly of Conrad Street and later Abbotts Creek relocated peacefully to heaven March 27, 2020.

A native of Davidson County, Wayne was former owner and operator of Wayne’s Recapping. He enjoyed fast cars, motorcycles, playing baseball and restoring 1940 Fords.

Following a traumatic brain injury at the age of 38 his mother Hazel became his legal guardian. Wayne enjoyed a chew of Redman, the Braves, a burger from Smilies, speaking to family and friends. He anticipated seeing church family and was a lifelong member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church.

Wayne was born January 22, 1941 in Lexington, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents Druid Odell and Hazel Koontz Sink. Wayne is survived by his 4 children: Robin Ann Sink of High Point, Ronald Sink (Margaret), Martha Lineback, and Chad Sink all of Lexington.

8 Grandchildren: Brent Lineback (Skylar), Kendra McCubbins (Bo) Justin Sink (Megan),  Geoffrey Sink, Aimee Sink , Caleb Sink, Haley, Landon LeBeau & 5 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his special cousins & their families.

A graveside service celebrating the life of Wayne will take place at Pilgrim Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2020 with Rev. Craig Saltzer officiating.
