Drusilla "Deanna" Mcree Davis

Drusilla “Deanna” McRee Davis, 81, of Clemmons passed away Tuesday December 19, 2017. A 2:00 p.m. memorial service will be held Saturday December 23, 2017 at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel with Chaplin Tim Martin officiating. A Newton (Catawba County) native, Drusilla was born March 16, 1936 the daughter of Hubert Leroy McRee and Johnsie Bost McRee. Drusilla graduated from Newton Conover High School and attended Clevenger Business College in Hickory. She attended Hebron United Church of Christ and was a retired bookkeeper from Piedmont Natural Gas Company. In addition to her parents Drusilla was preceded in death by her sister Johnnie McRee Wilson. She is survived by three devoted children, Michael Davis and wife Kimberly of Winston-Salem, Cynthia Davis Russell and husband Robert of Winston-Salem and Julie Davis Estep and Husband Todd of Winston-Salem; special friend and life companion of 28 years, Don Jones of Clemmons; his children, Donna Manuel and husband Ralph of Winston-Salem and Diane Wimmer and husband Woody of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Nick Davis and wife Amanda, Alex Davis, Allison Davis and Daniel Russell; nine great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Genevieve, Kathleen, Savannah, Benson, Devianna, Alexa, Christopher, Brielle; one great-great-grandson, Nicholas; brother, Colonel Marshall McRee and wife Patricia of Orlando, FL; cousin whom she loved like a sister Linda Toney of Newton; two special nieces Tracy Wellington and husband Jim of Skaneateles, NY and Stephanie Williams and husband Brandon of Menlo Park, CA. Drusilla opened her heart and arms to every one whose path she crossed. She will always be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, companion, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great- great- grandmother and aunt. We all will miss her but she will be spending Christmas with Jesus and her loved ones who have gone on before this year. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be sent to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, 320 West Maple Street, P.O. Box 1267, Yadkinville, NC 27055.   Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
